    re: nc downside lol

if you have read one or two of my other posts. i have mentioned something about using a proxy server etc etc - and i have had a lot of trouble with getting it to work - or configuring the stuff. i am playing around with proxy way, proximodo - but right now, i was seeing if i could simply set up the opera browser.

not many posts on the andean thread - so i am practicing here

i had a site, that gave my transparent proxy, real proxy etc - but i cannot find it again

just something that i am playing around with. i use clusty as my search engine, once i found out that google recorded all of ones searches. from my reading, and why i might like to learn how to use proxy way or proimodo - or anything else for that matter, is that maybe i would like to control what is happening with my computer.

look at the thread re: great site for music - and then look at the post from ground zero:

    Brilliant.
There are some security issues though.
If you "right click" on the rectangle of the song playing, and then "settings", you will see a prompt from Flashmedia as to whether you should allow Pandora to control your microphone or camera.........mine was NO, by default?
Then if you click on advanced, you get an explanation of everything from cookies to whatever.
Maybe the security conscious should read this.

    GZ

    ..........

from my reading, one has to be carefull of proxy servers, because they can simply use the site, to get your information - ie passwords etc etc.

lol - the first proxy site that i got to work properly, ended up being a site, through which the victorian schools access the internet - so the site is very nicely filtered

now let me see - for this posting, i used

    165.228.132.11 port 80

which i will check after i post

now, when you come back to this site, instead of reading nc - you get to read a book
