As one time supporter and shareholder, here's my 10c worth.
Quickflix had a good platform at the end. Nice website, multi-platform, subscription PPV and streaming, and mail order but they needed it two years earlier AND another 100million$ to spend on content; then they would have had a shot.
They went for the moonshot and tried to do it on the cheap. If they had pulled it off, they would have been legends - Didn't happen. I don't have any animosity against Langsford or his pay package. They needed to spend more not less.
Personally, I could have got out with a healthy gain but missed all the spikes and ended up with some lunch money and a 75% loss on investment. My personal lesson:
If you're holding an illiquid loss making company, sell the spikes aggressively and get to free carry as soon as possible.
