THE fight to stop the $1.5 billion Moorebank Intermodal project continues after a community action group took the project’s developer to court last week.
The group, Residents Against Intermodal Development (RAID) Moorebank, sought to challenge the approval of a key part of the project during a three-day hearing in the Land and Environment Court.
Represented by the Environmental Defenders Office NSW, RAID has pushed for conditions on the project to address community concerns about noise and environmental impacts.
It follows the recent rediscovery of a critically endangered shrub, Hibbertia fumana, at the site which was thought to be extinct for more than 100 years.
