The popularity is that it is a simple blood test as opposed to the two visit TST that is performed, from what I've seen, by community nurses and at specialised chest clinics. The test fits so seamlessly into the pathology/doctor system that IMHO doc's will see it for what it is, just a better way. But for sure the real paydirt is taking on the obligatory screening opportunities in the large unimmunised markets, I guess it's a case of the relative few that know about it don't think twice about ordering it and that number will grow.
