Oh and one other insight from the world of pathology, though it's hardly earth shattering,, what starts out as an investigation for a particular set of symptoms becomes a routine screen.
Once upon a time only fat guys who'd looked like they were ready for a heart attack had their cholesterol checked, now it's all ages.
Once the doc's have a test for something they'll test for it even if the chance is very slim that it turns a positive result,,,, I'm not suggesting next years flu season will see a rash of QFT's but I'm sure that as this test becomes the norm for TB it may well exceed the TST in prevalence. Yes that is a long way off and a distant possibility but it was part of my reason for investing years....... long years ago.
