imo when patents expire they'll have to drop their prices to stay competitive. the core tech is available to anyone interested for free, and they themselves can then start making new patents around that tech like cellestis is doing now. just little tweaks to make it better. so i doubt any new patents since the core tech is going to allow them to maintain fat profit margins. (unless they're somehow as revolutionary as the initial inteferon assay idea)
