Latest Barrick overview of operations in Africa released yesterday gave no mention of progress on Tusker. Don't know if that means it is off their radar now they have fully assessed the project (large deposit but low grade) or if they are keeping it quiet until they are ready to buy out SBS at an underinflated price. They have certainly scaled exploration there way back, suggesting this phase has finished. Could not imagine Barrick developing the project to feasability then free carrying a minnow like SBS. Will be interesting to see...but how many more years to find out? SBS are certainly also very quiet on the potential of Tusker, presumably not wanting to upset big brother Barrick?
