yet another expression by government that very soon renewables, and PV, will have to be cost-competitive on its own.
Qld does admit that current regulatory structures favour centralized utilities (and their unionised workforces and banker-backed owners) and that this regulation should be changed (note; not 'will be changed') to put domestic PV (retail power at 21c/kWhr, domestic PV at about same), commercial PV (between 5 and 30c/kWhr depending on how much power the business buys and how close they can get to political power ) and utility power (from 2c/kWhr to 1800c/kWhr depending on how much peaking power is running).
Full grid parity (i.e. equivalence with residential grid mains power) is predicted by mid this year so we can expect an adjustment to the Qld FIT by then.
Don't wait for a change to cost-reflective time-of-use pricing for Qld residential power. The Liberals didn't have the integrity to take off the fuel rebate when the lurk got out of control (or the fortitude to put it back on when they had the change to promise it).
