The comment from Lock the Gate is of no surprise and it does make controversial reporting. That does sell news. Their track record suggests anything Coal/Gas may not be acceptable. No surprise there.
The meat of the report really comes down to 'don't know, ongoing Court matter, no comment'. One of the allegations against LNC, if news reports are correct, is an alleged ground fracture at the LNC Chinchilla site. If LNC are correct then they have been thrown this allegation 10 minutes before media release. If reading between the lines then no love lost between LNC and DEHP may be putting it lightly. It is worth noting that there have been no reports or allegations of any disturbance to ground water whatsoever.
Still, it is an allegation UCG in general doesn't need at the present time.
We have apparently satisfied all requirements and hoop jumping the previous Gov's have put us through and submitted the A-Z to Independent Consultants which have been reported on. CNX seemed positive from that.
We simply await to see what the new Gov. will do. Given all the work and circumstances, for myself I will be surprised if we don't get the go ahead to proceed to Application, but that may just be me.
The DEHP and DNRM have had plenty of time to submit their recommendations IMO. If past announcements are any indication, then CNX have a reasonable rapour with the DEHP and have been positive in relation to co-operation.
Hopefully the bureaucracy is still churning and we will hear something by the end of the month. At least an update of progress from CNX is deserved IMO.
