Your last post reads like DES has effectively already written it off...........
Obviously, if it can dump the QFX stock, it should - but holding it (and assuming that DES doesnt participate in the next imminent funding round), then at least impact on the P&L is averted, but it then affects the balance sheet.
Whilst 20% of QFX is only $2m in todays terms, thats $2m that could be leveraged towards a BYI or other revenue generating business or operation improvement or even P&L leading to dividend.
Whilst DES has had some good acquisitions, the board should also be mature and sensible enough to admit to some bad, and make necessary amends. Im sure the market will applaud them for the move, as DES strategy has been somewhat inconsistent over the last year or two, and some strategic "rationalisation" may help with the SP.
On other matters - lets hope there is a period of consolidation coming up to "harmonises" and maximise the potential of all the recent acquisitions. A lot of work for the exec team to get the best out of the DES assets.
