Gardie there is another profession its called bookmaking.
Bookmakers as you no doubt know make odds on horse races and other sporting events.
You have favourites and you have long shots and the bookie,TAB or whoever sets the odds rates the chances of each participant accordingly.
The market is similar to an odds book, the markets rate each participants chances by valuing its stock price indicating a future likely value.
Recently as you may have noticed MMX has been rerated significatly upwards from around 1.30 to 2.94 high as of the week just passed now at 2.71 which is over 100% and with a significant volume as well which means the odds are showing the market thinks MMX has a siginificant chance it will have a successful outcome in its case with XXX.
Now XXX has also had a rise from 2c to 2.9 a 45% rise on medium volume but the volumes indicates distribution not serious buying.
The market is not always right but the market is smarter than a bush lawyer cause as they say smart money always finds its home.
Good luck to you and im sure you will walk away with a tidy sum but if this is the only stock investment you have ever made i must say im disappointed as you seem smarter than your fellow holders.
So many wonderful opportunities to make money in the aussie market in real companies that create real value.
