Shareholder Bulletin - 20 February 2019
Dear ShareholdersWe are delighted to provide you with this Shareholder Bulletin to keep you informed of material developments.
Western Sydney (Mays Hill) Project
As reported in our previous bulletin to shareholders, PT Blink and the developer/builder of a project at Mays Hill, near Parramatta, completed the analysis of constructing a two-tower complex containing 84 apartments which demonstrated a reduction in costs and a time saving of approximately 32 weeks. We have now moved onto the next stage where we are assisting with the completion of the design and structural engineering prior to commencement on site.
PT Blink is focusing on the logistics and work methodology of the project. The components of the trays and the columns will be manufactured by a high-tech steel components manufacturer in Yatala, near Brisbane. The manufacturer utilises one of the most advanced laser steel cutting machines in the world, ensuring very fast manufacture with extremely tight tolerances. The components will be shipped to a factory in Sydney (in the Smithfield area) where they will be assembled at the same time as excavation and basement construction is taking place at the project. The project will require the assembly of approximately 180 trays, each being approximately 12 m long by 3 m wide, to be completed at the time that the podium is finished by the builder. The trays are then to be delivered and installed on site over a period of less than two weeks.
A demonstration unit consisting of the Blink columns and trays has been erected at the corner of the Great Western Highway and Joyner Ave, Westmead. The columns and trays are identical to those to be used at the Mays Hill project. The purpose of the demonstration unit is to allow developers, builders, architects, engineers and building component suppliers to see the actual columns and trays and study how they may be able to be utilised. Although the site has been secured, the unit has been erected at the front of the site so shareholders can have a clear view of the unit from the street if they wish to visit. We would be delighted to meet with any shareholders on site to show and discuss the unit. Please contact me if you would like a site visit.
Fletcher Building New Zealand
The Fletcher Building New Zealand contract for design of a seven-storey apartment building in Auckland is continuing in earnest. A number of executives of Fletcher Building have made a field trip to Australia to prepare for using PT Blink on the Auckland project. The executives visited the SpringHill site in Brisbane and the manufacturer in Yatala to further understand the PT Blink technology and manufacturing methodology.
The components for a full-sized demonstration unit are in the process of being manufactured at Yatala and will be shipped to Auckland for erection shortly.
Caboolture – Queensland
The developer of the nine-storey commercial building and six-storey aged care facility at Caboolture expects the DA's for the project to be approved and released by the local council shortly. As soon as the DA’s are released, the developer intends to enter into a PT Blink license and the project will commence. Again, all of the PT Blink components will be manufactured at Yatala. We are currently working on the logistics, which includes sourcing a location near Caboolture to assemble and store the trays ready for delivery to site.
Gold Coast-Queensland
PT Blink is continuing to work with a developer and its appointed builder to finalise the Blink DMI methodology to be used to construct a 17-storey/ 3 basement level apartment building on the Gold Coast. We expect to be engaged on this project shortly and for manufacture of the Blink components to begin in mid-2019. The timing may vary depending on the level of presales achieved by the developer.
We are also in the process of arranging for the manufacture and display of a full-sized demonstration unit on the Gold Coast.
Marketing and publicity
We are in the process of arranging TV, radio and newspaper coverage of the Mays Hill project when it commences. Over the last few months, we have also been in contact with many developers and builders who have expressed a strong desire to utilise the PT Blink technology on their upcoming projects. Most of those developers and builders are keen to see the Mays Hill development undertaken before committing. We will invite many developers and builders to view the Mays Hill project first hand when it commences.
