I opened a foreign currency account (USD) at CBA today.
I then went into my OGC Computershare account pages and updated the AU bank account info with the new CBA account info.
Since then Computershare has advised me that only $A amounts can be direct debited into an Australian bank account.
So I tried imputing my new CBA bank account info as an US account...... but came unstuck when the "Routing Number" would not accept the CBA's SWIFT number of CTBAAU2S because it was an 8-digit number - and they require a 9-digit number. Calls to Computershare got to 4 different people and no solution.
I have now called OGC - hopefully they can sort it out for me (us?).
