Option 1 is also limited by the $100,000 non-concessional contributions cap.

Is there any way around that? If not, it will take 10 years to move a million dollars from my SMSF to a normal super fund. (Shorten might bump the cap up to get more money into his industry super funds, which I also believe is Labor's hidden agenda.)

However, I still think option 1 is the best strategy. e.g. each year sell 100K of dividend stocks and move that money into a normal super fund. That way I will maintain my exposure to dividend earning stocks and get the full benefit from them. So my normal super fund becomes my income earning portfolio and my SMSF becomes my growth portfolio for capital gain (until the Liberals get back in).
