Almost right, but not quite.
1) Only the franking credit portion of my income will remain here. Say around 20%. This means 80% gets spent overseas.
2) Of that 20%, how much do you really think will find its way into the real economy when foreign aid, the numerous UN vanity projects and Tony Burke’s First Class travel has to be paid for first? I haven’t even started down the track of the many other wasteful outcomes with public monies.
3) I’d be pretty confident in saying that nearly all of the 20% I spend here now efficiently finds its way into the real economy. It goes directly into the hands of tradies, shops, farmers etc.. the whole supply chain.
If Shorten and Bowen had one iota of integrity, they would remove all franking credits. Treat every entity equally instead of pandering to the industry super Funds. I could understand and support that course of action because there is an element of fairness.
