about the 18K2 threshold (for individuals) ...... be aware that does not apply to all tax payers.
for some the tax-free threshold is 28K9, and for others it is 32K2
and for others, if you work for a charity you can add about 17K to that 18K2 tax free threshold (so 35K odd before any tax)
the tax free threshold depends of what type of australian individual tax payer you are (and not talking anything to do with tax free super here or defence peeps getting tax free pay and allowances)
and on imputation credits,
a company can have no profit in a tax year - so owe/pay no company tax that year, but still pay a fully franked dividend in the same year (so has franking credits attached).
Tax is way too complicated in my opinion.
