The purpose of the Community Meeting is to consider the following: Tatampi Puranga Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (TPAC) and Laneway Resources Ltd (ML 100030) – Consult and Consent Meeting Laneway’s 100% owned Agate Creek Gold Project is located approximately 40km south of Forsayth and 60km west of Kidston in North Queensland. Laneway has lodged a Mining Lease Application (ML 100030) for high grade gold. It is envisaged that high grade material will be mined from shallow open cut pits and then transported via existing roads to a processing plant. A map of the proposed ML is enclosed. Laneway has been negotiating with TPAC for a native title agreement to provide benefits to TPAC and Ewamian People and to also look after Ewamian People’s cultural heritage through a separate cultural heritage management agreement. TPAC has negotiated an agreement in principle which provides compensation payments to Ewamian People and also includes opportunities for employment, training and contracting for Ewamian People. TPAC now needs to consult and seek the consent of Ewamian People before it enters into any agreement with Laneway and full details of the terms of the agreement will be discussed at the regional community meetings. An initial consultation meeting was held on 11 October 2018 and at that time the Ewamian People present did not make a decision in relation to TPAC entering into the agreement however postponed that decision until the South Queensland Ewamian People had had an opportunity to consider this. At meetings held on 13 and 14 October 2018 in Cherbourg and Brisbane respectively and, with the e xception of one Ewamian person abstaining, consent from all Ewamian People present was obtained for TPAC to enter into the agreement. This meeting will be the final consultation meeting and instructions at that meeting will be sought as to whether the Nor th Queensland Ewamian People consent to TPAC entering into an agreement. The meeting will commence immediately following the closure of the Annual General Meeting, the notice for which is enclosed . Please contact Project Officer, Jasmine Clubb to confirm your attendance. Thanks for that Biarra. My old system couldn't even cut it!! But, looks like there's no opposition so far for "TPAC entering into an agreement"!! Just need last group from South Queensland Ewamian People to consider it at the 30 November meeting (What they have to do with it is beyond me).
