Private equity firms are in it only for the $$$, they typically design themselves to earn big while risking little of their own. Sure, they will do a few things (normally quick & easy fixes) to improve the situation (such as jumping in bed with SFI to improve their chance of survival) but when the “rubber truly hits the road” and things become too tough, they will pull out and look for the “Next Big Thing”.
So, No, I don’t thing it is a good thing to be owned by a Private Equity group when the competitive landscape has changed so drastically since their ownership and with EagleView’s primary business model being totally threaten by Nearmap’s self service cloud access, they are losing market share everywhere & everyday.
Nearmap wasn’t a serious competitor back in 2013, but as we all know, everything has changed since then.
