Hi guys, FYI I just posted this correction on BSM thread regarding the size distribution of graphite Syrah is producing :
"Correction : after verification, it seems Syrah are using a new (confusing, possibly misleading ?) term for graphite size called coarse graphite. it seems this term is not a standard in the industry. According to Syrah the coarse graphite include +100mesh size which is considered small flakes by the industry. Large flakes start from 80mesh+.
Therefore the Syrah production of 80% small flakes / 20% coarse flakes dosent translate to 80% small flakes / 20% large flakes....In reality Syrah is producing 90% small flakes(+100mesh, -100 mesh) and only 10% large flakes (+80 mesh, + 50 mesh, +35 mesh).
Comparatively, BSM is currently prodcuing 50% small flakes and 50% large flakes.
IMO, Syrah should stop using this misleading coarse flakes term, they should instead use the industry standard classification by microns/mesh size or small/large flakes.
The money is either in large flakes or value added graphite."
