Blacksheep at ss just posted this link. Apparently "SQM[,] one of the oldest, largest and most profitable producers of the mineral used in rechargeable batteries for vehicles[, on] Friday, [] revealed a five-week delay in a project to take annual capacity to 70,000 from 48,000 metric tons." Shock, horror, a five week delay??Richard Seville is sitting on multi-year delays and he hardly bothers addressing it but SQM has a five week delay with their expansion project and it is considered reportable and newsworthy. Oh, they also put a figure on what the five week delay means: "the delay will mean just an $18 million hit on earnings before items". Has Mr Seville ever attempted to put a value on all the delays that he has overseen?
