Why? It is not as if it is running at full capacity anyway, in fact far from it. Maybe the company could run an extra shift for a few weeks to cover for the downtime? Maybe Richard Seville could earn his seven figure salary for a change and tweak the operation of the plant to squeeze even a few more tonnes per day out of what is a relatively new facility?
There appears to be a lethargy, an indifference, or sense of resignation that has settled upon the Orocobre threads on hc. Posters here seem to have been accepting Mr Seville's stream of excuses for over three years now for what is unacceptably poor performance, both with the operation of phase 1 and the development of phase 2 and the LiOH plant. The only bright spot of late for Orocobre has been the aggressive progress made by Advantage and that has the advantage of not having Richard Seville running the show. And now in his place we have Manuel, a local hire who does not know anything about the lithium brine business but if we pay him a seven figure salary to work from home he is willing to see what he can learn.
