I would argue the value has gone through the roof in the context of Sovereign risk of gas supply.
Especially for those who would directly benefit from the Meridian GSA.
i.e SANTOS, GLNG, Mitsui etc
After this latest circus act in New South Wales, it is clear the value placed on supply risk has increased by many, many multiples.
If I were Santos or GLNG I would now pay much more money to secure my supply after NSW has proven to be incompetent.
SANTOS paid a Billion Dollars for Eastern Star Gas in NSW only to have their investment completely worthless as of now.
Is 80 cents unreasonable?? What is 354 Million dollars especially when divided among the GLNG Goliaths.
It's a bit like me splashing out on Chinese takeaway for dinner, if I calculate the cost of my Chinese dinner as a ratio of my net worth - it is peanuts and well worth the convenience.
$354 Million dollars divided by 4 of the largest oil and gas companies in the world??
Santos - One of Australia's largest domestic gas producers
PETRONAS - Malaysia's national oil and gas company and the world's second largest LNG exporter
Total - The world's fifth largest publicly traded integrated international oil and gas company
KOGAS - The world's largest buyer of LNG.
Pleeeeeeez!
