Interestingly, just a few short days ago the story about the LRRK2 gene and it's creation - a kinase also known as LRRK2, made the news. On October 25, 2018 research results (as yet unreplicated) appeared in Forbes and on the The Michael J. Fox Foundation site. It suggests another avenue of approach to altering PD's course.
Yo this is serious.
Zapppp LRRK2 gone!
Poof!
Bad idea - it's an important functionary of the immune system. There'll be a balancing act to perform, but drugs to inhibit kinases are already commonly in use, especially with cancer. The race is already on.
Still - GK and his well-compensated associates (whom we all know are working their fingers to the bone on our account), must be aware this thing is winding down. Of course, beat the drum, sound optimistic and add to the dilution to increase the coffers. ...except as other stars glimmer much more brightly, it'll be a far harder to "pitch" this company when you hold out the hat.
Who wants an unproven competitor when there's a raft of "new stuff" flooding on to the market...and it's coming.
Back, when Prana was the new kid in town it commanded a $.....but that was back then.
I've been here for over ten years, treated like a mushroom (kept in the dark and fed...), funded life styles far in excess than my own, and I think
Maybe it's time to make some things happen.
No raise this year
Perform!
