I looked at a few Motley fool recommendations and noticed shares they recommend have had a previous one months healthy increase, but certainly have not held that trend since the recommendation. Seems they don't get forward estimates correct and work on past trends only IMO. The world is too dynamic it seems.( Just takes a President to open his mouth. )The average trader I would suggest can do that. DYOR. In regards to MORNINGSTAR, they had Pps at 1.47 undervalued in December and look at their recommendations now. Clearly they have no idea on PPS - when the ASX is back to near record heights and look at their fair price value today. Ummm....Don't PPS do the fintech work of many of these companies influencing the ASX . So PPS should have followed it back up. Ive learnt to take a watch and see approach and not act on recommendations any more. My formula is if a share has steep groth in the last month, Wait and watch for another 2 months in these uncertain times.
