    You say that the way you see it, the share holders get no benefit from providing this facility at all.

    Of course not! I don't know what sort of response you would have been given if you asked the accountant to answer those questions at the AGM. He had enough trouble explaining why the loan was a loan.

    We all learned in primary school that the kid who owns the ball has a strategic advantage in the playground in that the other kids either let him make his own rules or he will spit the dummy and take his ball home.

    The 2002 prospectus was the ball in the playground. The rules of the game changed many times over 7 years, but the changes to Appendix A in the constitution in November 2004 provided the ultimate kick in the teeth to the minority players.

    Regardless of who might own most of the ball, the Government gave us legislation and ASIC as a watchdog. The watchdog is sometimes asleep in its kennel but when it does wake up it can give a very nasty bite in the gluteus maximus to those who make their own rules on how to play with their balls in the playground.
