contrary to all reports by the media that this episode would have no affect on prescription medication, well today i phoned my pharmacist to order and pick up some 'anticonvulsant' medication

i wanted 2 drugs but a particular drug in question is manufactured by SIG (and the other by novartis)

both stop me from having epileptic seizures/fits, basically i can't live without them and in fact have been on them for over 23 years

i was informed that although the SIG drug has been manufactured it has been placed in 'quaranteen' and won't be available for another week(why for christ's sake?)

thank god i've got some spare ones that will see me through but it's cold comfort to those who don't and will, through no fault of their own suffer a seizure/fit because someone within SIG has decided to hold onto the drugs for one week??????????????????

my pharmacist told me that this procedure will affect other drugs in other companies because drug companies are tightening up on quality control procedures

so my advice to anyone that 'takes' prescription medication or 'knows' anyone that takes prescription medication is to 'STOCK UP' to ensure you have enough in supply in this day and age when so many are dependant on taking drugs for daily living needs
