    The paperless office theory of the 80s come to mind and paper consumption forecast was dire. Computers disrupted how we did everything, we were all going to live in a utopia digital world and no one would need paper anymore (we are almost there) Turned out paper consumption went through the roof for the next 3 decades.

    The grid will be more important than ever with EVs and battery back ups, but only the most efficient and innovative generators , operators, retailers and generators will survive. Imho. Yes it will disrupt grid players like erm but as soons as the practicality of maintaining all this new hi tech gear comes into play, large scale sophisticated operations will always beat out small scale setups, imho.

    I guess ERM is a bet on them being smarter than Origin and adapt quicker. Which i think is likely. I have bricks laying in the garden that smarter and quicker than the big O, imho. (Unfortunately i hold ORG). If anything this will give ERM to capture market share as disruption occurs but they will have to as smart as Google to do so
