I fully agree Brumbypat. I did make mention of this back last year on this forum when the price dropped approx. 30% following the AGM Chairmans Address and CEO Presentation. Some on this forum were unable to see that EPW had challenging times ahead and expected the price to recover. It has been now 5 months and things are still the same.

With low interest rates and investors looking for a good return, EPW is currently returning a reasonable dividend of 8% plus franking credits, one would have thought that this stock would have been in high demand and going gangbusters. One must ask. Why is it so !!!

Over the past 12 months the electricity generation utilities themselves have been voicing concerns about how their 10-year load forecasts have been shot out of the water due to the changing retail load demand as a result of the ever increasing home solar energy installations.
They find it difficult to predict future needs and hence have problems with planning capital budgets for future generation and distribution requirements for the years ahead.

With the new battery technology racing towards us there will be an amazing amount of existing energy customers that will be able to drop off the grid completely.

This will be interesting as who will foot the bill for the infrastructure costs of the poles and wires that run past the houses as this infrastructure will still be required by the few that stay online.

Infrastructure costs play a big part of energy pricing. Who will pay ?? Will electricity cost go up again for the few domestic householders that are left hanging on the grid ??

I believe Energex and Ergon are currently looking at entering into partnerships with new technology companies in an effort to remain both effective and efficient in the electricity industry. A very wise move to have some input and control over their future.
