RNT is still in its developmental stages..no one said its going to take down REA. They aren't the same thing REA and RNT have overlapping services with different primary focuses.
No one believed in taobao and alibaba when they were starting out as they did not profit from listing fees as did ebay. Now they completely wiped out ebay in China. Not only that, their market cap is larger than Walmart.
