Good point Marty. I have had several rental properties myself & always used an agent for the convenience. Working full time i really didnt want the headaches. Thing is, on several occasions I have been frustrated. The property inspection reports come in with all the boxes ticked but upon one final inspection it was clear the tenants had virtually trashed my home over a period of time & i doubt the agent's had ever even done a thorough inspection. I had built in mirror robes smashed, vertical blinds burnt with cigarettes, polished timber floors damaged by stiletto's.....i really dont think agents care too much about their landlords properties or give them much individual attention. If i was retired & had more time i would do it myself.....
