Great find Arkie, thanks for the article. Very topical, and it does bring some extra perspective on the whole tip-sheet industry. Oh, and every time I hear or read about ASIC and ASX I get the feeling that one of these days they might get actually get around to doing more than threatening to slap someone on the wrist with a wet tissue (!!!).
Succession and Oscar, I'd be interested in sending an e-mail or fax complaint ... however, I too would like some guidance as to how this should be done. Specifically, I wouldn't mind some advice as to what is most appropriate to complain about ... there seem to be so many things that have appeared to be dodgy in the past few weeks that it's a bit hard to seperate conspiracy theory from likely suspicious activity. I'd imagine credibility would be lost if sending conspiracy theory.
Obviously the 1st item would be the last couple of days re. the tipping sheet. But even then, what is the specific complaint (too much power / possible market manipulation / in league with other forces / inside information etc. etc.)?
But then there's Prime (and amazingly fortuitous SP movements completely working in their favour every step of the way to totally maximise their stake).
Then there's the whole ANZ / Opus-prime / director's share sales / non-declaration of substantial holdings (e.g 17M trade) etc. etc. thing (not necessarily unrelated to the Prime thing?!) ...
... etc.
I think many on this thread would be happy enough to send something, but more would be likely to actually do it if we could agree on a draft format, possibly with some individual variation so that it doesn't just end up being a petition.
Cheers.
