Well the only people to have sold any real volume of fuel cells is Panasonic in Japan where there was huge handouts by govt.
The same unit isnt selling in Europe as the same handouts are not there.
The asking price for the Panasonic unit in Germany is about €30,000 +/- 5k
Forgetting CFU as an investment and look at it from a tech side only....they have been chosen or won tenders well over all their competition for VPPs and have more commercial sales then all the other EU FC mCHP players put together.
But that guarantees nothing when you turn the lights back on and look at CFU as a commercial venture /investment which where it has been terrible.
Where they have been clearly pathetic is in securing a strong appliance partner like Panasonic, Toshiba, De Dietrich, Ideal etc.
That is imo their true failure. We are the most mature tech, most efficient tech at the cheaper end of the spectrum...more market proven and that is reflected when you directly compare us to the European competition.
But at the end if the day its like coming first in the special olympics
