1. I own both. Once almost with equal cash.
2. OEL may have the better prospects, Alaska, ie. future.
3. They split the GoM money 50% (less the royalty, so ~41% (if wrong correct me, but not germane here).
All things being almost equal here I believe -- and I'm biased -- is that Mr. Market has weighed the two, Alaska (yeah-yeah...), Tanzania mis-step (eye elsewhere?), and judged OEL's management by not buying.
