Shortman shows 79% of the trading volume on 8 June were shorts and the price was ~$10 at that time. If they closed out over the last few days they would have earned about 40c /share. I'd say a lot of shorts failed to close out and expected continued falls in the Banks. This could be forced buys/calls from the CFD /MARGIN traders closing open positions.
Hopefully we will continue on to $10.50 and upwards.
