Joe wolf, you are correct that the future is unknown to all. However simple TA does keep one out of trouble much of the time.

Here is a simple TA system based on your moving averages. If SP closes below both averages, go short. If it closes above both, go long. If the sp closes between the averages , stay away. To sell if long (or short ) I would use a different indicator....a trailing stop of some type.
Long story short, at the present time there is no TA reason to be long.”
