Since then SUN have been known to be thinking about divesting its banking arm to just concentrate on insurance. That talk has gone quite.
The competition regulator would have a big say in any rationalization within the Oz banking industry. AMP has a banking division, maybe they could team up with BOQ to make a play for SUN banking division? AMP are in such a mess at the moment they may consider any proposal to break up their asset base and return value to their poor suffering shareholders.
All speculation of coarse but food for thought. A fifth pillar would be a nice thought in the banking space!
