Yes, $3b for their Dev and Building portfolio is amazing on a rough 10% margin would earn them a decent $0.3b margin over 5 years. However, with the current burn rate in engineering business this would effectively be net out. Things would change if they did sell engineering though or got a massive contract. The later seems impossible as they are top heavy in the market and pricing themselves out of the business to the likes of CIMIC or Downer.
LL has sold retirement in the recent past plus engineering not doing well, and building taking on more integrated projects with development clearly is a sign of slowing down and share price going further south. McCann needs to change his strategy not keep selling valuable business to make margin rather be more competitive.
