JAKARTA. Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) ensure the project Liquefied natural gas (LNG) in North Sulawesi Sengkang, owned Energy World Corporation (EWC), will be operational by the end of 2015. Director of Oil and Gas Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Program, Agus Cahyono Adi said, at this time there have been improvements Sengkang LNG allocation. Where there has been a gas purchase agreement between the EWC with PLN.
"We expect to complete the construction of the first train and work-related test and launch operations in this year," he told KONTAN, Thursday (5/3).
Agus explained, the facility early stages of this Sengkang LNG project, consisting of one module LNG trains with a capacity of 0.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), the LNG storage facilities, and an LNG loading facilities.
So far, the equipment includes four box coolers, compressors and ancillary equipment has been installed at the site. Storage tank has been installed and filled immediately, while workmanship dock has been finalized, and parts of loading have also been installed.
Meanwhile, interconnecting pipe work and installation of control systems and instrumentation has been completed. PT PLN (Persero) has completed the first phase of the transmission system interconnection and ready to supply power to the site prior to commercial operation of the project.
Discussion about product purchase LNG, said Agus, discussions are underway with PLN which requires the supply of LNG for power plant operations in Indonesia. He added, the Sengkang LNG supply for the needs of plants in North Sulawesi, Bali and East Indonesia. "Infrastructure networks parallel later, that's what makes later section downstream," he explained.
According to Agus, there are 3 trains with a capacity of 0.5 MTPA again planned for Sengkang LNG project, bringing the total capacity to 2 MTPA. But this is still awaiting developments in Sengkang PSC, including Wasambo gas field in which the EWC has a 100% stake.
The investment in equipment and facilities for LNG tanks Sengkang first unit reached US $ 200 million.
