I have been watching the recent posts with interest. The recent trading by Martis is a great example of poor trading technique: Panic and sell out quickly on some bad news and then take up short positions at the same time; cut losses once again on the short positions and buy back into the same stock when the market is rising. This is the mistake that the majority of traders make and that's because one has to fight human nature successfully to be a good trader. I know this because I've made the same mistakes in the past but have now learnt from them. I have been trading for 15 years and still only make a small profit in the long term but it's better than a loss ( which statistics show is the likely outcome for short term traders).
