And the $30 premium we now see in Western Australia for our wheat price over the East Coast growers is evidence that for all the years all the Single Desk, Western Australian wheat growers were subsidising East Coast farmers by the cost of freight of getting East Coast wheat to market.
Never under the Single Desk were Western Australian wheat growers paid a premium over what East Coast growers received yet we are around $30/t in freight savings to end user markets in the Middle East and South Asia, especially Indonesia.
These are indisputable facts. Not long and we'll have a West Coast based futures contract.
