Politics matters whenever there is public concern and government can do something about it, but aquaculture being an important contributor to Tasmanian economy is important.
Here is another story about people campaigning against Okehampton bay, apparently all of a sudden they decide its a problem for whales, even though its not a new lease.
Politics is important because there are some extremists who want to stop aquaculture and they will use it to their advantage if they can, so it has to be countered. But i think most sensible people will recognise the good work Tassal does with transparency, accountable, and trying to improve processes.
