AN ONLINE report saying that the film project Point Break 2 has been scrapped is false, says the head of the Singapore-based company producing the movie.
But Mr Devesh Chetty, chief executive officer of RGM Entertainment, confirmed that director Jan de Bont is no longer attached to the project.
He said that the director left because of creative differences with RGM Entertainment.
Taking over at the helm is American Jeff Wadlow, a 2001 graduate from the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television, who has directed two modestly budgeted films, the horror movie Cry Wolf (2005) and a martial-arts drama Never Back Down (2008), according to imdb.com.
A producer, Jonathan Shestack, has also come on board. The American produced the action thriller Air Force One (1997) and the comedy Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past (2009).
The change has caused a nine-month delay in the movie, Mr Chetty added.
