That would also have the added benefit of reducing the CO2 by a much larger degree.
Much ,much better to move masses of people via train/ busses (& electric to boot). So if 70% of the population didn't have a car would that get us to the CO2 target savings frogga? That's right you don't know what you are trying to achieve.
Give up your car & save the planet (only for Sydney & Melb people) would be a far better gesture than buying an electric.
The car doesn't need to be illegal, just make it so friggin expensive that nobody will drive within 50 k's of any CBD.
I don't think FNQ will be too happy to be lumped in with the 'Average" commuter in Sydney or Melbourne when they have so many other options for transport, compared to FNQ. The tyranny of distance is very real as to is range anxiety & wanting to keep moving to get home (& not have another latte for the road).
