But had to be back by 6:00 to watch the footy. Drop the Mrs off & cruise around town or a quick run up to Port Douglas (another 140ks' round trip)while she shopped because I sure as hell didnt want to be dragged around a shopping centre.
If I had an electric I would have had to stop & have a dozen coffees, waiting...??? No time for 6 hours on the charger to make sure you can get home. And you would do that once a month (& I wasn't the only one)
(Townsville Cairns round trip was around 800 k's + 140k's to Port Douglas)
Also had a lot of mates at the Isa 900k's one way just to watch a footy match- what's that 4 full charges plus driving around town 5 full battery cycles in just over 24 to 48 hours. Could the electric car get you to the footy if you left at 6:00 saturday for a 4:00 kick off..although the car driving a drunk driver home might save a few lives.

We used to take our daughters to dance comps in Townsville (from Cairns)
and I would hate to think that we had to stop en route for a few hours to recharge the batterie to get back home.
"Mum are we there yet - mum do we have to stop for such a long time to recharge?" - I'm sure you know the drill Muddy
