Yes, you will have to install a charger at home to charge your ev. I imagine they will be standard in new houses within a decade. If you were travelling to remote places you would be wise to carry a charger with you. A charger does not have to be wired in although if you want to go with a bigger charger then yes, it will be wired in. As long as you have a 240 outlet you will be able to charge, albeit slowly.
