Gee, who can afford a new car these days?

We are flat out working full time just to keep the lights on! (especially given electricity price increases)

I don't think I'll EVER be able to afford a brand, new car. Not ever. Well...… not if I'm sensible. Anyone can go and get a car loan but is that really sensible use of cash? Not imo.

Plunging car sales are another sign of people keeping their wallets shut. Something we've been doing in my household since the GFC when my employer stopped handing out pay increases and basic living costs outstripped an increase I did receive. (There was one year that I got 0.9% increase and another of 1.5%)
