Interesting that no announcement has been made this morning by CERCG. They gave a deadline of Friday evening Perth time for AWE to respond / engage - perhaps AWE have commenced the engagement process in order to draw out a better offer.
Time will tell, but the Chinese are generally quite mercenary so I would have though an announcement would have been forthcoming first thing today.
