there are actually quite good compostable bags available now, some made from non-food grade corn. Totally bio degradeable - can put them in your compost. Not sure about what weight they can carry - only a matter of time before that is improved..just make a thicker um - thickness I guess. Probs too expensive atm for Woolies to offer them...I don't think the supposed "green" bags are really that great. Polypropylene is not a great substance for the environment.
