Don't think anyone will even consider PLA as a takeover until the Rooderand legal issues are resolved.
I am feeeling quite positive about the outcome for Rooderand, as Rustenburg / Anglo Platinum is a massive foreigh company that is probably only contesting on the basis of a legal loop hole they've managed to find / create versus Alta Mining which is a small local SA mining company (100% black owned) that has held the license for 3 years after Anglo was refused the license 4 years earlier.
It would be a very brave judge to take this license away from an up and coming local miner (especially black owned miner) becasue of a legal loop hole. There would be a massive up roar to say the least and that's the last thing the authorities would want especially with existing racial tensions and distribution of wealth problems in the area.
On a positive note, it shows how valuable the Rooderand prospect is for Anglo to legally challenge. Currently 9Mozs, might be alot more down the track.
On another note, more labour issues in SA, this time with Impala's massive mine, 17,000 sacked (temporarily).
