$8.2M debt servicing on revenues of $572M/EBITDA $67.4 and a net leverage ratio of 1.83 could be considered a bit high but certainly not outrageous. Sandy, I'm unsure where you get your numbers from, but they're likely historic? The AR issued at the start of this month paints a very different picture to yours.
As leasx intimated, their current statutory loss was due to write-downs, ie noncash, as their increased tax payments indicate. Of course, this can be a hit to shareholder confidence, but can I point out that Australia's biggest corporate write-down (Qantas last year) had arguably a positive affect on their share price? (aided by huge fuel cost reductions). I'm not equating CFK to QAN, just pointing out you cant use one metric to judge a company.
CKF continues to chase its peers on PE, but not on the metrics that count: ROC and EPS growth.
